Gemasi!
One day you're in India 53 hours later you're in Nepal. Just so you know...that's long!
We were in India for another week after my last update. Than that sunday we took a taxi to "Mumbai centraal". Getting on a train for 32 hours. We were with six people and had only 5 beds and little space. I hope I can show the picture of my bunk once. I'm glad I got some sleep. Arriving at the border in Borakhpur, looking for a taxi to the actual border, crazy ride, small car, bags on top (oh Lord help us). Again: I'm to tall for Asia! No problems at the border. Got on a taxi bus...seriously: best driver ever! Driving through the mountains (beautiful) superfast, passing trucks on supernarrow roads (good thing my mom wasn't there). Shortly another crazy ride for about 10 hours.
It's good to finally be in Nepal. It's a bit more touristy so more variety in food. Digesting normally again...finally! And man what do all those dutch people do here! I felt home again:P
(the last part I actually wrote 2 weeks ago but the power in the internetcafe went of, which is pretty normal in Nepal)
For the past two weeks we have been working with the Kings Kids ministry in Nepal. We Hung out a lot with street youth. It was really good but really confronting. Those kids have nothing and are all addicted to drugs or gluesniffing. We played soccer with them and provided food. One day we took 4 of the kids out of Kathmandu to a river up in the mountains where they washed their clothes and we talked with them and shared some testimonies. On our way back (2 hour busride) we sat in the middle and there was about 10 nepali students behind us. Me and Nate were gonna play a card game but I ended up doing tricks for them. When they asked for more we said that we had no tricks but only miracles. We ended up praying for a guy with his ARM in a cast because he had a huge cut. He had pain and a fainting feeling he said. We prayed for it and Jesus healed him, he had no pain or anything, he could move his arm completely again. After that I shared the gospel with half the bus, it was awesome! It is amazing what God can do out of nowhere.
We also did a lot of kidsprograms in churches and with Hiv kids. It is so good to see how God is moving in Nepal and how the church grows.
Today we did a treasurehunt ( where we have to follow Gods lead on the street and ask who to pray for and who to talk to or whatever. We handed out a lot of bananas, helped people with their jobs, talked to random strangers and homeless people. It was so cool to just do little things to make people smile.
Tomorrow we will be going by bus (12 hours) to the west (surkhet). There we will stay for 4 weeks. We will go into the villages and meet the peoples needs there, don't know what they are yet:p...
I hope that we get in some more structure there to have teamtines as well and really connect as a team. Could you please pray for unity in the team and offcourse health, which is gonna be an issue in the more remote areas. Could you please pray for guidance and open doors to share.
I want to thank you all so much for following me and your reactions. And thank you for all your prayers. It's amazing to know that so many people are a part of my journey through all that. I hope I can find internet in the comming 4 weeks. We'll see, I can't blog to soon because you'll need two weeks to read this one....
Bless
